Toyota Developing A Smaller, Sub-GT86 RWD Sports Car
Toyota has began the development of a little RWD sports-car to sit down below the GT-86, asserts a fresh report.
The Japanese company intends to provide a three-version powerful lineup of sports cars, using the coming Supra sitting on top as well as a lightweight infant brother of the GT-86 as the entry level automobile.
Tetsuya Tada, chief technologist of the GT-86, verified to Push Australia that Toyota has began early development work with the little sports car job but did not get in to additional details.
"We've began on the vehicle below the 86," Tetsuya Tada stated "it isn't yet determined if it's going to be 2-seat or 2-plus-2; we're creating the theory now".
The newest version is going to be rear-wheel-drive and can keep the interesting-to-generate nature of the GT-86. "Rear wheel-drive is the most effective answer for sports-car managing therefore this is accurate for all three Toyota sports-cars," Ta-Da included.
The newest car is likely to be similarly-sized using the Mazda MX-5, weighing under 1000kg but the power-train details nevertheless remain unknown.
What we do understand though is that Toyota continues to be developing street-going versions of its own racing hybrid method it utilizes in its Endurance racer for a while now, using the organization to unveil one more Hybrid R theory in the Frankfurt Motor Show.
