Volkswagen Golf R 400 and GTI Roadster in L.A
This week, Volkswagen introduces two new concept cars at the auto show in L.A. Both models are expected to be brought into the production. They are the new Golf R 400 and GTI Roadster.
The powerful Golf R 400 is built on the latest Golf R. It is equipped with the 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine, which is able to produce the output of 394 horsepower and the torque of 332 lb-ft.
Owing to that powertrain, the car can accelerate from 0 mph to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds; the maximum speed is 173 mph.
The Golf R 400 has the DSG dual-clutch gearbox and the all-wheel-drive 4Motion. In addition, that version gest lower clearings by 0.8 inches, but wheels are 19-inch as well.
The carmaker has not confirmed yet but it is expected the Golf R 400 will come on sale at the beginning of next year.
The second concept car is the GTI Roadster, which is equipped with 3.0-liter V6 twin turbocharged engine producing the output of 503 horsepower and the torque of 413 lb-ft. That model also gets the seven-speed DSG dual-clutch gearbox as standard and the all-wheel-drive 4Motion system. The wheels are bigger -20-inch. Due to using lightweight materials, the Roadster has acceleration to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds while the maximum speed is 192 mph.
