Volkswagen shows its Golf R 400 concept at the auto show in Beijing
Yesterday the annual Beijing auto show opened its doors and the Volkswagen rolled its sports version of the popular Golf concept.
This sports concept is equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine that produces the power of 395 horsepower and the torque of 332 lb-ft. The car is able to accelerate from 0 mph to 62 mph in just 3.9 seconds; the top speed is 174 mph.
This turbocharged direct-injected powertrain works with the electro-mechanical multi-plate clutch Haldex and the all-wheel drive 4MOTION. The concept car gets the brands six-speed DSG with dual-clutch.
Moreover, the sports concept has the special sport suspension MacPherson includes lower wishbones. The sports concept gets new 19-inch wheels with 235/35 tires.
Owing to lightweight materials, carbon fiber panels and the stripped-out cabin, the sports Golf R 400 has the weight of 3,130 lbs. The concept gets better aerodynamics due to the back diffuser, dual back spoilers, side sills and a new front splitter.
The interior includes leather, carbon and Alcantara trim as well.
