Volvo is Going to Produce Cars in Cooperation with Chinese

Chinese Geely Holding Company, which owns Swedish auto manufacturer Volvo announced creation of new united research and development center which will be located in Goteborg (Sweden).
The main target for creation of a new center is development of new modular architecture and accessories for future cars of C segment in accordance with requirements of Volvo Cars and Geely companies. It was Mats Fatgerhag who will lead the Center, currently he is on position of vice-president of Volvo Cars Production strategy.
About 200 employees will work at the full rate for new research and development center. Most of these employees will be Chinese specialists. The requirements for future R&D engineers are in process of elaboration and the Center starts its work by the end of 2013.
"Our group of companies seeks to develop and strengthen competitive opportunities of our brands — the main shareholder and the chairman of the board Li Shuf, — In the closest years Geely will continue to increase quality of the production, adopting experience at Volvo Cars".
Simultaneously with the opening of new Center Volvo Cars by own efforts carries out the development of architecture for the big models of cars (SPA). The first car on the basis of architecture of SPA will arrive in production in 2014.
