Tofas Dogan Reviews
The Tofas Sahin, Dogan, and Kartal are Turkish forms of the old Fiat 131 car made in Turk Otomobil Fabrikasi A.S. services in Bursa, Turkey. The vehicle was assembled from 1977 and marketed in Turkey until 2002, with Egyptian assembly coming to a finish last year and in Ethiopia until 2010.
In February 1977 the Turkish Tofas Murat 131 was launched, as a near exact reproduction of the Fiat 131. From this stage a 1.6 litre OHV engine was likewise put into the lineup, creating 75 PS (55 kW) DIN at 5,400 rpm. This mainly replaced small 1.3 (now with a maintained 65 PS/48 kW DIN at 5,400 rpm with a Weber twin carburetor), that was only kept as a cheaper alternative for the more fundamental Sahin variation. A fivespeed manual-transmission was launched, initially only designed for the Dogan which was likewise set aside by big rectangular headlights.
In 1988 they obtained a major aesthetic revision leading to a layout quite similar to the Fiat Regata. The "Murat" part of its name was still found in certain advertising stuff, but not appeared in the vehicle and slowly vanished. Following the facelift, the Dogan and Sahin sedan models are nearly visually indistinguishable barring various upperclass trim options in the marginally more lavish Dogan form. The Kartal, the station-wagon derivation of the plan, is really a model originally produced by SEAT in Spain.
In 2002 another minor facelift was received by the range, yet because these were now only created for export, generally in CKD form this season also heralded the end-of Turkish revenue. With now the transmission was not available. In 2005 these were launched with single-point electronic fuel-injection. Turkish generation was progressively shifted to Egypt. In where it continued over a small-scale until 2010 (see more under). 2006 construction was likewise commenced by DOCC in Ethiopia.
