Bentley Azure – is a large 4-seater convertible of premium class created by Bentley company. The name ‘Azure” means ‘cerulean’ in translation from French. The car was constructed on basis of the Bentley Continental R and T models and inherited design and engines from them. Roof and exterior design was elaborated by Pininfarina Italian Company. The roof folds and unfolds rather fast by pushing the button. Folded roof does not throw in the eye and does not break smoothness of lines.

Bentley Azure debuted in 1995 in Geneva and immediately won the title “Convertible of the Year”.
In 1999 new version of Azure was introduced – Mulliner which differed only by some exterior details.
Bentley Azure was powered by V8 6,75L with 400 hp and 874 N-m of torque turbo engine from Garrett Turbocharges. The car was rear drive. What about transmission, the car was equipped by 4-step automatic gearbox. Due to such technical equipment two-door convertible speeded up to 100km/h by 6.3 seconds and was really fast for the car with weight of 2450 kg. Maximum speed was 250 km/h.
Bentley Azure standard configuration production was stopped in 2002. And in 2003 Bentley Azure Mulliner was also withdrawn from production.
But in 2006 Bentley Company decided to renew Azure manufacturing. New convertible was constructed on the basis of Bentley Arnage Drophead Coupe concept car, introduced at Los-Angeles auto show in January 2006. From the massive sedan wheel undercarriage was inherited that is why dimensional length of the car is rather big – 5,41 meters. The roof is soft, folding. It can fold and unfold by 30 seconds due to special system of electric actuators. Because of soft roof it was necessary to strengthen the exterior and engineers decided to use special joists of carbon fiber, which were located under the floor of the car. Rigid and simultaneously light materials helped to reach the necessary strength of exterior with a very slight increase in weight.
The car is equipped with V8 450hp engine with two turbocharges. It reaches 874 N-m of torque and maximum speed of the car is 270 km/h.
The convertible interior combines luxury style and convenience. It is completed by positive atmosphere created by folding roof. The car has really long list of options contained in standard configuration: airbags of driver and passengers and also side airbags, glasses with electric actuators, pre-tensioners of seatbelts, electric actuators of mirrors, climate-control, board computer, parktronic, optic regulation, cruise-control, navigation system, seats heating, electric actuator of driver and passenger seats, CD-recorder, CD-changer, xenon lamps.
