A successor of the Bugatti Veyron gets 286 mph
Bugatti is working on development a new Veyron’s successor equipped with the hybrid powertrain system but producing the output of to 1,500 horsepower to allow accelerating tp over 267 mph.
According to the auto manufacturer, the novelty will be introduced in 2016 and come on sale in 2017.
As it has been already said, the new Veyron model will be equipped with the hybrid powertrain, which includes the Veyron’s 8.0-liter W16 quad-turbocharged engine. That powertrain is bale to accelerate a car from 0 mph to 60 mph in just 2.3 seconds; the maximum speed is promised 286 mph. Certainly, we should not forget about an electric motor, which will work with the engine.
Besides the powerful, the brand’s engineers are also working on reducing the car’s weight to 4,000 pounds. Moreover, the aerodynamic is planned to be improved, too.
The renewed design and increased speed demand the improved safety system as well. The new model was tested by using different materials and technologies. The cabin will remain the two-seated; the novelty will be also equipped with the seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox and the all-wheel-drive.
Bugatti plans to produce only 450 models including 150 targas and 300 coupe variants.
