BRUSSELS -- Vw may construct the Audi A-1 entry superior auto at Seat's manufacturing plant in Spain instead of in Belgium within a generation reshuffle, media reports stated.
VW Team manufacturing plant in Brussels, where it now assembles the A-1, would get still another version, in line with the reviews, which mentioned union officials. The alternative version may be a power vehicle, some reviews stated.
Changing A1 output to Seat's manufacturing plant in Martorell, near Barcelona, would save money by enabling VW Group to create automobiles depending on common platforms within a factory.
The A-1 is going to be changed in in 2018 or 2019.
Jurgen Thysmans, a spokesman for the Brussels factory, mentioned Audi is investing 500-million euros in the plant between now and 2019 and its 2,500-man work force "has every cause to consider the plant has another."
A year ago, 115,000 A1s were assembled in the plant and generation for 2015 is forecast at 116,000.
Unions anticipate a determination on the creation changes toward the conclusion of the 3rd quarter.
Seat constructs the Audi Q3 in Barcelona, combined with Seat Ibiza, Leon and Altea automobiles.
