Audi updated its A1
The Audi manufacturer introduced its compact A1, which was updated recently. The renewed version is named the S1. It is the previous model but in a new sports variant.
The S1 will be available in a hatch with three doors and a sport back with five doors as well.
Audi plans to launch the novelty as a regular model. The S1 is coming on the market after its official debut at the annual auto show in Geneva in March.
The novelty is equipped with a four-cylinder turbocharged engine, which produces the output of 231 horsepower and 272 lb-ft of torque. The car is able to accelerate from 0 mph to 60 mph in 5.8 seconds. The S1 is planned to get all-wheel drive and a six-speed manual gearbox as standard. However, the carmaker is working on the S tronic dual-clutch transmission as an optional feature.
The renewed vehicle gets some significant updates in its technical part, such as a suspension and electric power steering. The braking system was upgraded too –it got master cylinders and bigger discs; the novelty has 17-inch wheels as standard.
The exterior was also changed. The new S1 gets redesigned headlights with LED, new taillights, an aggressive bumper and a back spoiler.
The new interior includes sports-style seats, stainless steel pedals and dark-gray gauges.
The novelty meets competition among Mini Cooper Works and Ford Fiesta ST.
The three-door version is planned to cost about 40,830 dollars and the Sport back will have the price of 41,990 dollars as well.
