BMW introduces retro-inspired 3.0 CSL Homage concept
1305
BMW has traveled to the yearly Villa d'Este Concours d'Elegance in Italy to introduce a completely new theory called 3.0 CSL Court. As its title obviously indicates, the show-car was developed as a homage to the 3.0 CSL coupe that tore up race tracks across Europe throughout the 70's.
The style combines modern and retro-styled styling cues to make a striking 21st century interpretation of the CSL. Visually, the layout is distinguished with a tall kidney-grille and slender headlights in advance, chromed fender ports, marked haunches as well as an enormous rear wing outside back. The coupe is concluded in a tradition-laced shade called Golf Yellowish, while interval-inspired black stripes put in a finishing touch to the retro appearance. The 3.0 CSL Court makes considerable use of carbon fibre in order to keep fat in-check. Also, every creature comfort considered superfluous continues to be tossed out, making a again-to-the-fundamentals cockpit with state of the art parts just like a rectangular Multifunction controls as well as a completely digital device cluster. Complete technical details are unavailable, though BMW h-AS allbut affirmed the show-car is driven with a gas-electric hybrid drive-train constructed around a straight-six motor. Electricity is delivered to the rear wheels via an automatic transmission managed by big shift paddles. Like all the sensational theories that BMW introduces in the annual Concours d'Elegance, the 3.0 CSL Court will stay a one off design research that WOn't get the green-light for manufacturing. On the other hand, the present 6 Collection is a direct descendent of the CSL therefore it is perhaps not too farfetched to envision the theory's layout could determine the next gen 6 which is scheduled to debut prior to the conclusion of the decade.
