BMW rules out pickup

BMW is open to incorporating more cross-overs and sport utility vehicles to its line, but the Munich-based auto-maker has validated it is not going to follow Mercedes Benz direct to the entire world of midsize pick-ups.
"You must be another business [to create a pick-up], yet this business isn't willing to change in the best driving machine as well as the greatest successful business in high-end into a mass manufacturing company who goes following the amount of of trucks," described Hendrik von Kuenheim, BMW Team senior vice president of Asia, Pacific and South Africa.Von Kuenheim is talking about the forthcoming Mercedes GLT-Course. His assertion doesn't come as much of a surprise because, unlike competing Mercedes, BMW has never significantly dabbled in industrial automobiles. Mercedes, on the flip side, has an extensive history of creating heavy duty trucks, Unimogs, a wide selection of vans as well as some of pick-ups. Nevertheless, BMW is promoting at least two pick-ups on the span of its almost century-extended background. The miniature Isetta bubble car was available as a pick-up straight in the factory through the 50's but extremely few were offered, and BMW constructed a pick-up on the basis of the E92 m 3 (imagined) for April Fool's Day in 2011. Billed as the planet 's quickest pick-up, the M-3 highlighted 420 hp as well as a 1,000-pound payload. What is next? While a pick-up continues to be categorically eliminated, BMW is gearing up to introduce at least three new offroaders in the forthcoming years, including a brand new X-1 as well as a range-topping version called X7 which will take to the Mercedes Benz GL as well as the Land-Rover Range Rover.
