2017 Cadillac XT5, 2015 Los Angeles car ShowEnlarge PhotoAt last week's 2015 Los Angeles auto-show, Cadillac introduced the fashionable XT5. The car replaces the SRX and is only the first of four new cross-overs Cadillac intends to start in the coming years. Sadly, wewill need to wait over two years till we see the next one.
The advice was verified to Automotive News (subscription needed) by Cadillac manager Johan de Nysschen. He explained Cadillac's next cross over is going to be a streamlined version arriving in 2018. Essential competitors is going to be the Audi Q3, BMW X1 and Lincoln MKC.
The streamlined crossover, prone to be badged an XT3 or XT4, will ultimately be accompanied by by a sizable crossover with third-row seats. This version will match the likes of the Audi Q7 and Volvo XC90 and fill what de Nysschen describes as the "apparent difference" between the little-to-midsize XT5 and full size Escalade. The Cadillac manager said we can anticipate that in the last half of 2018 or early 2019.
The big crossover was initially due next year but the launch was pushed back, probably as a result of a choice to base it around the rear wheel drive underpinnings of the Cadillac-unique Omega stage that debuts in the CT6 sedan. Formerly, the crossover was to discuss a stage with other, front wheel drive-centered General Motors Company [NYSE:GM] big crossovers such as the Buick Enclave and Chevrolet Traverse.
The fourth and closing Cadillac crossover is likely to be a subcompact version. It'll almost certainly share its underpinnings with a next generation Buick Encore. Read Source
