Hyundai Genesis gets twin-turbo V-6
1900
NY -- Hyundai Motor Co. intends to include a twin turbo V6 motor to its Genesis sedan as part of a more comprehensive move toward downsized and turbocharged engines, the auto-maker U.S. leader said. Dave Zuchowski, Chief Executive Officer of Hyundai Motor America, said the all-new motor would arrive on the Genesis sedan in 2017 or 2018 and have electricity in the ball-park of the organization 's 420 hp, 5.0-liter Tau V8 but count much less. Before that new power-plant arrives, Hyundai will integrate more downsized and turbocharged engines in its line as an easy way to reduce emissions and boost fuel-economy to satisfy toughening regulatory conditions, Zuchowski stated. The primary example of this tendency is the 2016 Tucson disclosed in the Ny auto show the other day. The compact cross over works on the turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder, paired with a seven-speed dual clutch transmission, on all-but base trim amounts. "We are likely to proceed more generally with that in the portfolio," Zuchowski stated. "You are likely to find smaller displacement, more utilization of turbocharging. Lots of it's weight-connected, all of it's CAFE-connected."
The Hyundai Genesis will include the brand new twin-turbo V6 in 2017 or 2018.
