Shane van Gisbergen's brand new Holden Commodore V8 Super Car is going to be shaken down in early June, ahead of its own race debut in Darwin.
As documented by Motorsport.com the other day, Tekno Autosports is placing the finishing touches on a brand-new Triple Eight-created Commodore, which van Gisbergen will race for the very first time at Darwin the following month month.
But before then, he could be set to provide the vehicle a shake-down at Queensland Raceway, having a preliminary date now set in the initial part of June.
In accordance with van Gisbergen, the shift to a fresh chassis is not probably to make a key change to the team's raw rate, but only creates a better operating atmosphere for him and the crew.
"The present car is aged, age-smart, but nonetheless, it still goes well," he advised Motorsport.com.
"And it has not been also poorly crashed or something like that.
"But a fresh automobile is definitely pleasant. It is beneficial to the group as well; they can examine just how they set everything together and ensure it is from the initial day.
"So it is great for them, and it is great for me personally to have some thing new.
"Chassis-smart, I do not believe it is heading to make a tremendous difference. It is only new and pleasant."
Brad Jones Racing driver Fabian Coulthard will also be in possession of a fresh Commodore for the Darwin round, as shown this morning. Read Source
