The 2015 Audi Q7 redesign
The Audi brand had to think about redesign of its Q7 model long time ago because of there were too much direct rivals of this car. Finally, it has happened.
However, all fans of the brand were upset knowing that introduction of a renewed car had been delayed because of some changes in a car’s design.
The first reason of delay is very aggressive design developed by a designer Wolfgang Egger in 2011. Then in 2012, the concept car got the imposing grille that was put into a car structure.
The second reason of delay is a new platform. Now it is known that the redesigned Q7 will be based on a platform from the third generation of Volkswagen’s crossover and will be introduced as a car of 2015 model year.
This platform will be used in the 2015 Audi Q7 and the 2016 Bentley SUV. The shortened platform version is planned to be use in a new Touareg, a 2017 Lamborghini SUV and Porsche Cayenne.
The new platform allows reducing a car weight as well as using aluminum and some composite materials in the construction. Besides, the Audi engineers plans to use smaller engines.
The new Q7 will be available with both TFSI engines – a 3.0-liter and 4.0-liter engine as well as a 3.0-liter TDI. Besides, the auto manufacturer plans producing hybrid of this model. Q7 hybrids are expected to get both 3.0-liter TDI and 3.0-liter TDI will an electric motor, which will be able to drive nearby 18 miles.
There is no enough information about a future interior of a novelty, but as we have heard, optional features include a third-row seats and 4G LTE.
Anyway, we will keep you informed.
