The 2015 Chevrolet SS is previewed
The new Chevrolet SS is a car of 2015 model year. The novelty gets some updates such as additional Brembo rear brakes, new magnetic dampers and the six-speed manual gearbox. We remind you that the previous model year version had Brembo brakes in front only.
It is sad that the carmaker has not boosted a powertrain. The updated version is still equipped with the 6.2-liter V8 LS3 engine, which can produce the output of 415 horsepower and the torque of 415 lb-ft. The car’s acceleration from 0 mph to 60 mph takes only 5.0 seconds. The sedan is available with rear-wheel drive.
Now more details about brakes. The front wheels get 14-inch Brembo brakes with four pistons, at the rear there are 14.2-inch Brembo brakes. Standard wheels are 19-inch forged aluminum covered with Bridgestone tires: front wheels -245/40 and back ones -275/35.
The inside technical features include the touchscreen display, satellite navigation, the OnStar 4G LTE connection, Wi-Fi hot spot, the brand’s MyLink interface, ventilated and heated seats. The assists systems include automatic parking, lane departure warning, forward collision and, certainly, the rear view camera as standard. The safety system was improved by eight airbags as well.
The exterior color is available in different five paints: the Regal peacock green, alchemy purple, “Perfect Blue”, special “Jungle green” and “Hot red”.
Currently, the carmaker has not declared prices yet, but we are able to suppose the price for the 2015 model year will be close to over 44,470 dollars.
