The 2015 Ford Mustang will get less than 100 pounds of weight
Finally, we have gotten data about the new Mustang curb weight. Before, we were expecting over 300 additional pounds but the auto manufacturer stinted itself in weight of from 2 to 90 pounds more. This difference depends on a model configuration.
The carmaker has made decision only to give weight for the Ford Mustang GT and V6 models of 2015. In addition, these versions are equipped with the new multilink independent back suspension.
The manual GT model will get 86 pounds to the total weight is 3,704 pounds; the automatic version will get 52 pounds to the total weight of 3,727 pounds. The convertible GT model equipped with a manual gearbox gets additional 90 pounds to the total weight of 3,825 pounds while the automatic GT cabrio will become heavier by 60 pounds to 3,852 pounds.
The manual V6 model gets additional 25 pounds to the total weight of 3,526 pounds; the automatic V6 model will get only 6 pounds to 3,529 pounds. While convertible V6 models will become heavier –the manual version by 14 pounds to 3,644 pounds and the variant equipped with the automatic gearbox will get 2 pounds to the total weight of 3,654 pounds.
Besides the weight, the 2015 model Mustang will be equipped with a new 2.3-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost turbocharged engine.
