The updated Land Rover LR2
The Land Rover manufacturer has presented its upgraded LR2 model, which was launched last year. It is expected the novelty will get the new four-cylinder turbocharged engine, the redesigned luxury interior and certainly the newest brand’s off-road system as well.
We will remind you that this model has been launched since 2007 and it needs upgrading then. However, we have some information about a novelty, which is under worked currently but it is expected to be a good predecessor of the LR2.
The renewed model is based on the Range Rover Evoque platform. We are waiting for the car appearance as a model of 2015.
By the way, as you remember the Evoque model uses the dubbed module platform LR-MS by its turn. This platform includes steel as material for a car body as well as aluminum to reduce vehicle weight.
The Land Rover maker plans to offer the novelty in different versions: the updated LR2 is expected to be available with seven seats, five seats and the manufacturer hopes to offer a compact version of its crossover.
The auto manufacture is working on developing a new crossovers family, which named “Discovery”.
The novelty will be equipped with two types of powertrains; the first one is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine producing the output of 240 horsepower and the torque of 250 horsepower; another powertrain is the 3.0-liter V6 supercharged engine, which is planned to be offered for the Sport package. Both variants will be equipped with standard nine-speed automatic gearbox.
We will have an opportunity to find the new LR2 in a few months.
