Toyota presents its new TS040 Hybrid LMP1
This year, the Japanese auto manufacturer Toyota is ready to present its new TS040 in the LMP1 as well.
That car is unique, it is equipped with the hybrid powertrain. First, the vehicle was introduced last year.
For this season, the auto manufacturer is planning to field two vehicles of the new TS040 Hybrid.
According to the carmaker, they base its experience on modifying driving, improving technical characteristics of the car and the total efficiency and performance. The Toyota carmaker aims to come into winners of the WEC racing this season and then.
What about updates, we are sure there are changings only in regulations. The main powertrain will be the same –the V8 engine, producing the output of 513 horsepower.
Besides the standard engine, the hybrid vehicle will get the electric motors powering both axles 473 horsepower. In that case, the total output of the novelty is able to be 986 horsepower as well.
The first motor generator powers rear wheels while the second one powers the all-wheel-drive then.
Both Porsche and Audi use similar electric powertrains but with the V6 diesel turbocharged engine. The Porsche carmaker uses the V4 turbocharged unit as well.
