Williams' 2016 car will be 'significantly' different
Williams has dropped a hint that next year's vehicle will be 'somewhat' dissimilar to to its 2015 Formula 1 competition.
The team stopped development of its present auto several weeks past, with its third-place in the constructors' championship just about afterward a done-deal.
And having elected to create a daring measure using its new automobile, it's meant that few components being prepared for 2016 were worth bringing ahead to examine by the end of the effort.
Williams performance leader Rob Smedley stated: "The vehicle we've got in the windtunnel for 2016, as well as the 2015 automobile by the end of the the growing season, are somewhat diverse - therefore we couldn't do such a thing this yr from an aerodynamic viewpoint.
"In relation to other areas of R&D, and mechanical layout, yes we've been trialling issues all the time, and you require a bundle of updates with the mechanical auto to see if there's any lap time development.
"But all our major lap time development is straight back in the wind-tunnel in Grove."
Even though the data coming from the Williams wind-tunnel is supporting, Smedley is similarly well-aware that unless the group does better than its competitors it is not going to make any advancement.
"It's all comparative," he stated. "We could possess a stellar improvement, but Ferrari and Redbull have a much more stellar one.
"Every thing that we're seeing in the minute is great. We're hitting targets, we're constantly looking not only at headline amounts but other aspects of aero improvement, major aspects of aero improvement.
"Therefore it's procedure of obtaining us again to the front. In the minute we have been pretty happy in what we're seeing." Read Source
