Volkswagen introduces the Golf GTD
Recently, Volkswagen has shown its new Golf GTD. The novelty is not planned to be sold in the U.S.
The novelty is a hatch, equipped with a diesel powertrain. The totally new Golf GTD will be officially introduced at the auto show in Geneva this March.
The Golf GTD is a great combination of efficiency of a sporty car and the fuel economy.
The powertrain is the 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged TDI diesel powertrain. It is able to produce the output of 181 horsepower and the torque of 280 lb-ft.
The gearbox is offered as the six-speed manual and the six-speed DSG dual-clutch transmissions.
Owing to that powertrain, the car will accelerate from 0 mph to 60 mph in just 7.9 seconds.
The fuel economy is average about 53 mpg in the combined cycle driving.
The exterior includes chrome exhaust pipes, a new lowered suspension, 187-inch alloy wheels and the sports body kit.
The interior is also designed in sporty style and different elements and accents inside. there is the sporty steering wheel, a golf ball shaped gear knob. The cabin is presented in the GTI tartan trim.
Certainly, there are some optional features such as Vienna and Alcantara leather trim, red brake calipers and 18-inch wheels as well.
As we have already said, the novelty will be officially presented at the show in Geneva this March.
